Addiction, Attachment, The Brain and IFS
May 31, 2018
Addiction, Trauma, and the Brain
Presented by: David Adamusko, MS, LMFT, CCTP
In this workshop, David will use a very interactive and visual representation of what typically occurs in and to the brain during addiction. He will also discuss how that relates to, and overlaps with, trauma often experienced by those that love someone in addiction. This pattern predictably impacts both partners’ ability to form and maintain healthy relationships. We will explore how Internal Family Systems and Attachment approaches can be helpful in improving the functionality of the relationship and the brain.
